Beyond the Announcement
The most memorable league launches don’t end with a press release. They give fans something to carry forward.
For India Basketball League, Powered by Fandom translated the energy of a brand-new sport into a physical collection, caps, totes, socks, and keychains, built around the premiere league’s own colours and identity. By giving fans a first collection to hold, IBL’s launch continued to live on well beyond the announcement stage.
Creative Direction
Taken directly from IBL’s own identity, the collection’s caps and totes carried the premiere league’s look into everyday wear, bold orange against black, a basketball motif built into every piece.
Fan Experience
More than merchandise, the collection became the first marker of belonging to India Basketball League, giving fans a way to carry that identity forward as the country’s newest sport takes shape.
Before the buzzer, there was the fandom.
A League With No Season Yet, and Fans Already Wearing It
No squeak of sneakers on court. No scoreboard lit up. Just orange fabric under warehouse lights, the smell of fresh print, hands reaching for caps before the first ball had even bounced. Powered by Fandom built India Basketball League’s debut merch drop before IBL played a single game, because some fandoms don’t wait for kickoff. They show up early, and they show up loud.
Creative Direction
Every great league needs a look before it has a legacy. We built IBL’s identity from the ground up, bold orange bleeding into black, a basketball stitched into every seam, thread, and patch. Caps with structure fans could feel in their hands. Socks bold enough to peek out from under sneakers. Not decoration. A uniform for people who hadn’t watched a single match yet.
Fan Experience
Picture it: a cap pulled low, a tote swinging at someone’s side, a keychain jingling with every step, all worn in a room that smelled like fresh ink and new fabric, before IBL had bounced its first ball. That’s what this collection gave people. Something to hold, wear, and feel like they belonged to something before there was anything to belong to yet.
The Game Hadn’t Started. The Fandom Already Had.
Powered by Fandom gave India’s newest basketball league a wardrobe before it had a scoreboard.

Building the First Wave
Before IBL had its first game, it had its first fans. Powered by Fandom designed the league’s debut merchandise collection, caps, totes, socks, keychains, launched at BUDX NBA House in Delhi. The first thing fans could wear, before the season even began.
Creative Direction
A new league needs its own identity. Powered by Fandom, IBL’s look from scratch, bold orange against black, a basketball motif carried across every piece. Not borrowed. Built for this game, from day one.
Fan Experience
A cap. A tote. A keychain shaped like the ball itself. Small pieces fans could hold onto before IBL had even played its first match, worn as proof they were there from the start.
